How to Spend 24 Hours in Rome

Rome, the capital of Italy, is among the largest cities in the world. The culture, food, architecture, and every other thing of this city attract the visitors towards itself. Tourists find it difficult to explore the whole city in one single trip.

In this article, we will guide you on how to spend twenty-four hours in Rome. This guide will cover all the major attractions of Rome, and by following it you will be able to explore at least half of the whole city.

Morning (5 A.M TO 12 P.M)

Assuming that you only have a day to explore this majestic city, we advise you to wake up early in the morning. Set your alarm for 6 A.M, take an hour to do your morning exercise and to freshen up and leave the hotel by 7 A.M. Then head towards some nearby café for breakfast, and then start your journey towards the first destination of the day i.e. Colosseum.

From 8:00 A.M to 8:30 A.M you should reach the Colosseum of Rome. Try to reach early to avoid long queues. The Colosseum is an amphitheater. The inside of the amphitheater is so breathtaking and reminds the visitors of Roman times. Take time to walk through the building and explore all its parts and then head towards the Vatican Museum by 10:00 A.M to 10:30 A.M.

The Vatican Museum is hands down the best museum in the world. History seekers find this place a dream destination and can easily spend the whole day inside it. Some of the top attractions to see in this museum include the group of rooms in the public portion called the Raphael Rooms, a 120-meter long gallery covered with painted maps known as the Gallery of Maps, Spiral Staircase, Gallery of statues, and The Sala Rotundo.

Noon (12 P.M to 3 P.M)

After exploring such a huge museum, you might be feeling tired and hungry, so what about having lunch and relaxing for a little bit. 12 P.M to 2 P.M is the best time to head towards a café or restaurant for lunch in Rome.

You can find a lot of cafes and restaurants throughout the city of Rome. Choose a delicious and healthy meal and enjoy it. After having your meal you can walk to the nearest store to grab some sweets or ice cream and can enjoy it while wandering through the amazing streets of Rome at noon.

Afternoon (3 P.M to 5 P.M)

Now that the sun is not at its peak and you are feeling fresh, it is time to visit the famous Orange Gardens. The orange park filled with tall trees and benches gives a mesmerizing view of the whole city. Some people even regard this park as the most romantic park. You will enjoy walking in this park while enjoying the panoramic view of the whole city. Try to leave the park by 4 P.M as many other destinations are waiting for you.

Next, you should head towards Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. The ruins found at this place help the tourists to get an idea of life in the past. You can capture some best images while being surrounded by the ruins, so make sure to visit this place even when you are short on time.

Evening (5 P.M To 10 P.M)

Evenings in Rome are for shopping. You either can do street shopping or can shop at some excellent mall. You can shop for the branded Italian leather bag, elegant dresses, high-quality shoes, handicraft items, and souvenirs. With thousands of options to shop from, visitors can easily spend two hours while shopping or just window-shopping. We know that shopping during a trip can disturb your whole budget, but to make your trip memorable make sure to shop for at least one thing.

At around 7:30 P.M, you should start hunting for the best restaurant in your surroundings to enjoy a tempting dinner. We advise you to visit your hotel, change your clothes, relax for a while and then enjoy dinner in the hotel.

Night (10 P.M to 5 A.M)
